175 Litre Nose Cone
This float is designed to help form the bow section of a pontoon boats / moving craft. When combined with the 333 Litre Flotation Module, it can serve as one of the hulls for a pontoon boat or small houseboat. These pontoon boat floats are molded in a single piece from durable, high-stress, crack-resistant thermoplastic polyethylene. The polyethylene is colored with a carbon black pigment for maximum ultraviolet light resistance. They are unaffected by osmosis, marine organisms, or chemicals commonly found in marine environments. Product weight: 17 kg, 23 kg when foam-filled.
A4-0184 - 333 Litre # FLO333-184

2. What is the nose cone made from?
The nose cone is manufactured from high-quality thermoplastic polyethylene that is durable, impact resistant and designed for long-term marine use.
3. Is the nose cone Australian made?
Yes. The 175 Litre Nose Cone is proudly Australian made and supplied by Marine Dock Systems.
4. What does a pontoon boat nose cone do?
A nose cone improves water flow around the hull, reduces drag and helps improve the appearance and performance of pontoon boats and moving craft.
5. Which flotation module does the nose cone fit?
The nose cone is specifically designed to fit the Marine Dock Systems 333 Litre Flotation Module.
6. Can the nose cone be used on pontoon boats?
Yes. It is designed specifically for pontoon boats, houseboats, recreational craft and commercial floating vessels.
7. Is the polyethylene UV resistant?
Yes. The polyethylene contains carbon black pigment which provides excellent ultraviolet resistance and long outdoor service life.
8. Is the nose cone suitable for saltwater environments?
Yes. Polyethylene is highly resistant to saltwater, marine organisms and common marine chemicals.
9. How much does the nose cone weigh?
The standard nose cone weighs approximately 17kg and weighs approximately 23kg when foam filled.
10. Can the nose cone be foam filled?
Yes. Foam filling is available for additional buoyancy security and enhanced safety in marine applications.
11. Will the nose cone corrode or rust?
No. Polyethylene will not rust, corrode or suffer galvanic corrosion like many metal alternatives.
12. What types of boats use these nose cones?
The nose cones are commonly used on pontoon boats, party boats, fishing boats, workboats, houseboats and custom floating vessels.
13. Can replacement nose cones be purchased?
Yes. Individual nose cones can be purchased for new construction projects, repairs or replacement of damaged components.
14. What are the advantages of polyethylene nose cones?
Polyethylene nose cones offer excellent impact resistance, low maintenance, UV stability, corrosion resistance and long service life.
15. Are engineering drawings available?
Yes. Detailed technical drawings and assembly information are available for the nose cone and matching flotation modules.
16. Can the nose cone be used on houseboats?
Yes. The nose cone and flotation module combination is suitable for pontoon houseboats and floating accommodation platforms.
17. Does the nose cone improve boat performance?
Yes. By creating a streamlined bow shape, the nose cone helps reduce drag and improve water flow around the hull.
18. Is the nose cone resistant to impacts?
Yes. The rotationally moulded polyethylene construction provides excellent resistance to impacts, knocks and general marine wear and tear.
19. Can the nose cone be used in commercial marine projects?
Yes. It is suitable for commercial pontoon boats, tourism vessels, work platforms, hire boats and industrial floating structures.
