What is the 3.4 metre pontoon boat designed for?
The 3.4 metre pontoon boat is designed for fishing, water testing, environmental monitoring, bridge maintenance, dam inspections, aquaculture operations and recreational boating. Its compact size makes it easy to transport, launch and operate.
How large is the 3.4 metre pontoon boat?
The boat measures approximately 3.4 metres (11 feet) long and 2.5 metres wide. It is the smallest pontoon boat in the Marine Dock Systems range and is ideal where a lightweight and stable floating platform is required.
What flotation modules are used in the 3.4 metre pontoon boat?
The standard boat uses four 333 litre polyethylene flotation modules and two matching nose cones. An optional centre row can be added to create a tri-hull configuration with increased buoyancy and payload capacity.
What are the pontoon floats made from?
The flotation modules are rotationally moulded from UV stabilised polyethylene. They are impact resistant, corrosion resistant and suitable for both freshwater and saltwater applications.
How much weight can the 3.4 metre pontoon boat carry?
The twin hull configuration can carry approximately 600kg, while the optional tri-hull configuration can carry approximately 900kg including passengers, fuel, equipment and accessories.
What are the advantages of a tri-hull pontoon boat?
The optional centre row of floats increases buoyancy, improves stability and adds approximately 300kg of additional payload capacity compared to the standard twin hull design.
Can I purchase the flotation modules separately?
Yes. Individual 333 litre flotation modules and nose cones are available separately for repairs, upgrades, custom projects and owner-built pontoon boats.
Can I build my own pontoon boat?
Yes. Marine Dock Systems supplies flotation modules, aluminium frames and complete pontoon boat kits. Many customers choose to build their own pontoon boat using our proven flotation systems and drawings.
Can an outboard motor be fitted?
Yes. Optional aluminium outboard motor brackets are available and can be supplied with or without rear access steps depending on your requirements.
What optional accessories are available?
Optional extras include marine carpet, mooring cleats, aluminium edging with grip tape, fishing rod holders, boarding ladders, steering consoles, rear steps, seating and additional flotation modules.
Is the pontoon boat suitable for fishing?
Yes. The wide beam and stable platform make it an excellent fishing boat. Optional rod holders, marine carpet and seating can be added to create a comfortable fishing platform.
Are the pontoon boats Australian made?
Yes. Marine Dock Systems manufactures its polyethylene flotation modules in Australia and fabricates aluminium frames using quality marine grade materials.
What are the benefits of polyethylene pontoon floats?
Polyethylene floats are lightweight, UV stabilised, corrosion resistant and virtually maintenance free. Unlike steel pontoons they do not rust and provide many years of reliable service.
Can the 3.4 metre pontoon boat be customised?
Yes. Marine Dock Systems can customise pontoon boats with additional flotation, different deck layouts, steering systems, motor brackets, seating, railings and commercial equipment to suit specific applications.
What industries use pontoon boats?
Pontoon boats are commonly used in aquaculture, environmental monitoring, water testing, bridge inspections, dam maintenance, marina operations, fishing, tourism and recreational boating.
Why choose Marine Dock Systems pontoon boats?
Marine Dock Systems has been manufacturing polyethylene flotation systems and pontoon boats in Australia since the early 1980s. Our boats are used throughout Australia for recreational, commercial, industrial and government applications.
